Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to modernize ITSS learning by converting content into blended, digital, and self-paced formats while upholding high instructional quality.

Applicants will apply learning science, adult learning principles, and performance-based design to create measurable programs and scale training across ITSS. The role includes mentoring content developers and aligning with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of instructional design or related L&D experience.
• Experience with blended learning, eLearning, VILT, simulations, and microlearning.
• Experience using learning analytics to measure effectiveness and inform improvements.
• Understanding of ADDIE/SAM or similar design methodologies and performance-based design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the instructional design strategy for complex ITSS learning programs.
• Manage end-to-end learning design projects including scoping and timelines.
• Design and develop blended learning solutions eLearning, ILT/VILT, microlearning, simulations.
• Mentor Content Developers and junior Designers on design practices and quality standards.
• Partner with stakeholders to evaluate learning effectiveness and drive improvements.
