Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking an exceptionally skilled engineer with deep Java Spring Boot and web framework experience to architect and deliver production-grade GenAI solutions. You will lead offshore teams, design robust backend services, and build responsive frontends.

The role emphasizes API design, testing, CI automation, and guardrails for safety and cost. Strong collaboration with product and platform teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in design, development, and triaging for large, complex systems.
• Proficient in Java and object-oriented design.
• 5+ years of microservices development.
• 3+ years working with Spring Boot.
• Experience with API dev tools like IntelliJ, Eclipse, Postman, Git, and Cucumber.
• Hands-on experience building microservices with Spring Boot, REST, and JSON.
• DevOps focus: containers, cloud, CI/CD, and streaming tech (Kafka).
• GenAI capabilities including prompts, tools, memories, and RAG patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of offshore engineers and deliver AI initiatives.
• Build backend services in Spring Boot and Python (Flask/FastAPI/Django); design APIs and jobs.
• Develop frontends using React or Angular; collaborate on UX and accessibility.
• Own quality with PyTest, integration tests, and contract tests; enable CI automation.
• Ship GenAI features: prompts, tools, memories, workflows; implement RAG pipelines.
• Productionize AI with guardrails for safety, observability, and cost control.
• Work across data layers: vector stores, embeddings, caching, and secure connectors.
• Collaborate with product/design/platform teams; review code and mentor peers.
