Job summary

Umpisa Inc. seeks a seasoned full-stack software engineer to design, build, and maintain features using React on the frontend and NestJS on the backend.

You will architect scalable APIs, own features from design through production, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating cross-functionally. The role requires 5+ years in full-stack development, strong TypeScript skills, and experience with cloud and container tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Experience with React and NestJS (Node.js/TypeScript).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and API design (REST/GraphQL).
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, RTL, Cypress).
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Cloud and container tech (AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge transfer and training delivery experience.
• Mentorship of junior/mid engineers and driving best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using React on the frontend and NestJS on the backend.
• Architect scalable APIs and services; contribute to data modeling and system design.
• Own features through design, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Write clean, tested TypeScript code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Address performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and scalability challenges.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; raise technical bar across the team.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, tooling, and CI/CD processes.
