Job summary

Umpisa Inc. seeks a seasoned backend engineer to architect and lead scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Go, Java, and JavaScript.

You will drive enterprise-grade apps with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, owning complex auth, integration, and data strategies. Collaborate with frontend teams using ReactJS, design efficient MySQL schemas, and lead microservices architecture while mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 6+ years backend experience owning systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on production experience with Go, Java, and JavaScript.
• Deep expertise with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs with auth and integration services.
• Frontend collaboration with ReactJS for UI components.
• MySQL schema design and performance tuning at scale.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems architecture.
• CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response experience.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Willingness to KT/training sessions and travel to Singapore and Manila.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead backend services and RESTful APIs using Go, Java, and JavaScript.
• Drive enterprise-grade apps using Spring Framework and Spring Boot, setting technical direction.
• Own complex business logic, auth, and integration services with security by design.
• Define API design standards and lead API design for internal/external systems.
• Partner with frontend teams and own complex ReactJS components where needed.
• Lead relational DB design with MySQL, scaling architectures.
• Optimize database schemas, indexes, and data access layers.
• Oversee end-to-end integration between frontend and backend services.
• Evaluate and govern third-party services and APIs.
• Drive microservices architecture and distributed systems decisions.
• Enforce data security, reliability, and standards across apps.
• Lead development and automation of testing strategies and CI/CD.
