Job summary

Staffstream is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to own the cost base FP&A for a major global financial services group. You’ll work with Australian stakeholders, delivering monthly cost-base reporting, variance analysis, and commentary, driving cost awareness across business units.

You will lead month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, support process improvements, and collaborate with Financial Control to ensure accurate journal entries and cost allocations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounting or finance with FP&A focus
• CPA or equivalent certification
• Experience in financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cost modelling
• Clear communication with Australian stakeholders
• Ability to work with complex datasets in a matrixed environment
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with BI tools
• Proactive, detail-oriented with big-picture view

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management reporting on cost base and business recoveries
• Review month-end cost base for technology service areas and analyse variances
• Provide analysis and commentary on movements and rationale
• Identify adjusting entries with Financial Control for tech cost accruals
• Join regular financial meetings with stakeholders to review results and forecasts
• Communicate with Australia-based stakeholders on a regular basis
• Spot opportunities to improve processes and simplify workflows
• Support ad hoc requests and team initiatives
