Job summary

Remote Employee BPO Phil Inc is seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to join the growing finance team. This role supports AR/AP automation, month-end close, and financial reporting in an Australian-facing tech environment, with a focus on process improvement and accuracy.

The candidate will manage reconciliations, bank postings, and statutory reporting while ensuring compliance with Australian practices and tax standards. A data-driven, autonomous professional will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting or financial accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Experience with Australian practices, tax regs, and BAS is desirable.
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations with accurate, up-to-date records.
• Perform monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reviews; investigate variances.
• Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items promptly.
• Oversee month-end close, entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Assist with payroll processing and tax compliance.
• Prepare BAS and other statutory financial reports.
• Support audits and liaise with external accountants.
