Job summary

PeoplePartners BPO Inc. is seeking a Senior Finance Operations Accountant to own month-end close, reconciliations, and journal preparation for Australian clients in a remote capacity.

You will manage AP/AR across entities, support P&L and cash flow reporting, and drive process improvements with a focus on accuracy and compliance. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on accounting, experience with Australian GST/BAS, and advanced Excel/Xero skills.

Qualifications

• Accounting or Finance degree.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare bank and corporate credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain AP and AR records across relevant entities.
• Prepare accruals, prepayments, fixed asset, depreciation, and loan accounting.
• Reconcile intercompany balances, recharges, AP, and AR.
• Prepare review-ready journals, reconciliations, schedules, and work papers.
• Support P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
• Prepare BAS-ready accounting work and support Australian GST requirements.
• Prepare payroll-related journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve reconciling items at source.
• Support variance analysis, budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Maintain audit trails, supporting schedules, and documentation.
• Identify and implement practical finance process, control, and workflow improvements.
• Identify duplicated or unnecessarily manual accounting processes.
• Use approved AI and automation for appropriate accounting activities, with human review and validation.
• Escalate material risks, blockers, and accounting issues to the Finance Manager when required.
