Job summary

ams OSRAM Group, a global leader in light and sensor solutions, seeks an experienced professional for the CSA division. You will liaise with cross-functional teams to optimize tests and drive cost, build, and performance targets for new products.

The role requires 8+ years in semiconductor testing, expertise in optical sensor device testing, wafer probing, and ATE operations, and the ability to lead teams through complex problem resolution and handover processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's-style degree in electronics/engineering or physics.
• Experience in semiconductor test and backend functions is required.
• Strong ability to document results and support handovers.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing and test processes for new products, ensuring cost, build, and performance targets are achieved.
• Lead large teams to resolve critical issues and back up the Test NPI Manager.
• Initiate and manage new devices from approval to handover, including test transfers from global.
• Coordinate site transfer activities for released devices and ensure all requirements are met before release.
• Oversee pre-production builds, verify test processes, and drive issue resolution before production handover.
• Contribute to process FMEAs, lead new process development and qualification with Process Engineering.

Your new responsibilities

• Liaise with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing and test processes for new products, ensuring cost, build, and performance targets are achieved.
• Manage and lead large teams to resolve critical issues, and provide backup support for the Test NPI Manager in key roles.
• Independently start up and manage new devices from project approval through closure, including test transfers from global.
• Support site transfer activities of released devices, ensuring all requirements are coordinated before release to target sites.
• Oversee pre-production builds, verify test processes, and drive resolution of issues before handover to production teams.
• Participate in Process FMEAs, lead new process development and qualification, and collaborate with Process Engineering to adapt or qualify processes for new devices.
• Contribute to supplier selection criteria, manage supplier interactions, review progress against milestones, and initiate improvement programs to ensure cost, quality, and reliability.
• Prepare detailed test and backend reports in handover or RTP documents to ensure smooth product release cycles.

Who we are looking for

• Graduate of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically handling Test and Backend functions.
• Advanced expertise in optical sensor devices testing, including electrical, optical, and vision testing.
• Strong experience in test handling, wafer probe testing, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) operations.
• Ability to interpret and create project plans, ensuring alignment with technical and operational goals.
• Skilled in preparing professional technical reports and documentation to support project execution and handover.
