Job summary

Meralco PowerGen (MGEN) in the Philippines is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead origination of new organic power generation projects and strategic partnerships within the Investments Group.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will oversee market identification, feasibility assessment, stakeholder engagement, and initial project structuring to build a robust pipeline and contribute to long-term value creation.

Qualifications

8–10 years of progressive experience in business development or related commercial roles in power generation or energy.
At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role leading BD initiatives.
Proven track record of originating and structuring power projects or strategic partnerships.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and negotiation capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement BD strategy, identify growth areas and market trends in energy.
Lead origination of new power generation projects (greenfield/brownfield) and partnerships.
Manage relationships with government agencies, regulators, and industry partners.
Guide early-stage project development, site identification, and preliminary assessments.
Mentor the BD team and build a robust project pipeline.
