Job summary

Amplio Business Partners Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design commercial Solar PV, BESS, and embedded networks for Australian clients. You will produce drawings using AutoCAD, PowerCAD and PVSYST, and review tenders and technical submissions.

The role requires at least three years of PV/BESS design experience, strong knowledge of Australian standards, and proficiency in MATLAB and Python.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience in commercial or utility Solar PV and BESS design.
• Experience with Australian DNSP Grid Connection processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PowerCAD, PVSYST, MATLAB, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer commercial Solar PV, BESS and embedded network systems.
• Produce drawings and models using AutoCAD PowerCAD and PVSYST.
• Review tenders, complete take-offs, estimates and technical submissions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, grid assessments and system optimisation.
• Prepare SLDS technical documentation, work packs and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and service rules.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting and engineering assurance.

You will work across the full engineering lifecycle for Solar PV, BESS, and embedded network projects, delivering high quality technical outcomes for a rapidly growing renewable energy business.

About the Role

Design and engineer commercial Solar PV, BESS and embedded network systems

About You

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum three years of experience in commercial or utility Solar PV and BESS design

Strong experience with Australian DNSP Grid Connection application and approval process (Victoria AUSNET, Jemina, Powercore, Citi Power, United Energy)

Proficiency in AutoCAD Powercad PVSYST MATLAB and Python

Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and grid compliance requirements

Experience designing and managing PV and battery storage systems

Strong communication analytical and problem solving skills

Experience with EV charger design embedded networks or hybrid systems

SAA accreditation GCPV or GCBS
