Job summary

Manila Recruitment is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for our Australian client expanding its remote Philippines team. You will administer and optimize AWS-based cloud environments, build scalable systems, and ensure security, reliability, and cost efficiency.

You will lead cloud design initiatives, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive automation using IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related.
• 5+ years of cloud engineering experience; AWS administration, Linux server management, Puppet.
• Experience with IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform, Serverless) and scripting (Bash).
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AWS RDS and web servers (nginx/apache).
• Agile, strong communication, initiative and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Propose automation improvements and work with stakeholders to deliver win-win solutions.
• Improve the capability and efficiency of the Cloud Engineering team and IT department.
• Administer an existing AWS environment – build, deploy and maintain Linux/Windows servers and services.
• Manage Puppet controlled infrastructure and develop new cloud-based systems.
• Lead design and architecture of cloud solutions with focus on security and cost efficiency.
• Support production systems, act as escalation point for incidents and perform RCA.
• Drive security best practices and cost optimisation across the cloud environment.
• Mentor and coach the Mid-level Cloud Engineer and other team members.
