Job summary

Emapta Philippines is hiring a Senior Bookkeeper to manage an Australian client portfolio from a permanent work-from-home setup. You will resolve advanced accounting matters, strengthen financial processes, and mentor junior bookkeepers, expanding influence beyond day-to-day tasks.

With 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience and strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping, GST, BAS, PAYG, payroll, and superannuation, you will drive accurate reporting and compliant processes across clients.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in an Australian accounting or bookkeeping practice.
• Knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, PAYG withholding, payroll processing, and superannuation requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Xero and bookkeeping applications.
• Familiarity with Dext, Deputy, Square, Lightspeed or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across industries using Xero.
• Oversee the accuracy of client bookkeeping records.
• Prepare and review bank, credit card, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
• Prepare and review payroll including superannuation obligations.
• Lodge BAS and IAS.
• Review GST, PAYG withholding, payroll, and superannuation reconciliations.
• Resolve complex bookkeeping issues and ensure timely delivery.
• Review general ledger accounts for unusual transactions and required adjustments.
• Prepare weekly reports and month-end management reports in Xero.
