Job summary

Visory is hiring a Senior Bookkeeper to manage quality, accuracy, and client communications across a group of accounts. You will supervise day-to-day tasks with AI agents handling routine work, focusing on complex cases and ensuring all records are correct before client delivery.

You will work with Xero, Dext, and Shopify integrations, handling multi-currency scenarios and BAS/IAS/TPAR compliance, while collaborating with the product team to improve systems and processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Australian bookkeeping experience
• Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, TPAR, GST treatment, FBT data capture and month-end close
• Advanced Xero skills (Xero Advisor certified or equivalent) and strong Dext knowledge
• Experience with Shopify, Deputy, payment gateways and PSP/EFT integrations
• Ability to explain accounting to business owners who are not finance experts
• Open to working with an AI agent as a teammate and provide clear feedback
• Clear written communication for online, platform-based conversations

Responsibilities

• Own the quality of the books for your clients, including A/P, coding, reconciliations, A/R, month-end close and asset register
• Handle complex or unclear tasks where AI cannot reach a confident answer
• Help the agents improve by recording errors and corrections after each workflow
• Collaborate with product to test improvements and help set quality standards
• Communicate with clients as the main day-to-day bookkeeping contact

About The Role

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for the quality, accuracy and completeness of the books for a group of clients within your team. You will also be the main person those clients talk to about their bookkeeping.

At Visory, AI agents handle part of the day-to-day bookkeeping work, so you can spend your time on what matters most: reviewing the work, solving the difficult cases and making sure everything is right before it reaches the client. Your judgement is what makes the difference.

You don't not need AI experience but you do need a willingess to learn. We are looking for people with deep bookkeeping knowledge who are curious about working with AI and want to join a growing company changing the industry.

The Role

Own the quality of the books

• Make sure bookkeeping work is accurate, complete and on time for your clients. This includes accounts payable, transaction coding, reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end close, BAS/IAS/TPAR and the fixed-asset register

Handle the difficult cases

• Take on tasks that are complex or unclear, where the AI agents cannot reach a confident answer

Help the agents improve

• After each workflow, record any errors, corrections and changes in a simple, structured format so the agents get better over time
• Look out for repeated problems across clients and raise them with your Manager and the product team
• Work with the product team to test improvements and help set quality standards

Improve how we work

• Suggest and make improvements to system settings (Xero and other apps) and to how clients send us information, so that work runs smoothly

Communicate with clients

• Be the main contact for day to day bookkeeping questions from business owners and finance leads.

About You

Bookkeeping experience (required)

• 7+ years of hands-on Australian bookkeeping experience, including multi-currency, inventory/COGS and complex reconciliations
• Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, TPAR, GST treatment, FBT data capture and month-end close
• Advanced Xero skills (Xero Advisor certified or equivalent) and strong skills in Dext
• Experience working with Shopify, Deputy, payment gateways and PSP/EFT integrations

• You can explain mistakes and unusual cases clearly so that others can learn from them

Communication

• Clear written communication, especially in online, platform-based conversations
• Ability to explain accounting to business owners who are not finance experts
