Job summary

Visory is hiring a Senior Bookkeeper in the Philippines to manage high-quality books for Australian or US client portfolios. You will oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with AI-enabled processes to ensure accuracy before client delivery.

You will work with a cross-functional team across the Philippines and Australia, handling multi-currency books, BAS/IAS/TPAR for Australia, and 1099/US tax considerations where applicable.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on bookkeeping experience with multi-currency and complex reconciliations.
• Deep experience working directly on Australian or US clients (both welcomed).
• Advanced Xero skills (Xero Advisor certified or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Own the quality of client books, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely month-end close.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and BAS/IAS/TPAR for assigned portfolios.
• Collaborate with AI agents and product teams to improve processes and standards.
• Serve as day-to-day bookkeeping contact for business owners and finance leads.
• Align with Australian or US client requirements, including tax and regulatory filings.

About the Role

Our Philippines team is at the heart of how Visory delivers for its clients, and we are expanding it. As we take on more clients in Australia and the United States, we are hiring Senior Bookkeepers in the Philippines to join our customer teams.

You will join a small, cross-functional team that owns a portfolio of clients end to end, working alongside colleagues in the Philippines and Australia. Depending on your experience, you will look after either Australian or US clients.

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for the quality, accuracy and completeness of the books for a group of clients within your team. You will also be the main person those clients talk to about their bookkeeping.

At Visory, AI agents handle part of the day-to-day bookkeeping work, so you can spend your time on what matters most: reviewing the work, solving the difficult cases and making sure everything is right before it reaches the client. Your judgement is what makes the difference.

You don't need AI experience, but you do need a willingness to learn. We are looking for people with deep bookkeeping knowledge who are curious about working with AI and want to join a growing company changing the industry.

The Role

Own the quality of the books

Make sure bookkeeping work is accurate, complete and on time for your clients. This includes accounts payable, transaction coding, reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end close and the fixed-asset register

For Australian clients, this also includes BAS, IAS and TPAR

For US clients, this also includes sales tax tracking and filings, and 1099 preparation

Handle the difficult cases

Take on tasks that are complex or unclear, where the AI agents cannot reach a confident answer

Help the agents improve

After each workflow, record any errors, corrections and changes in a simple, structured format so the agents get better over time

Look out for repeated problems across clients and raise them with your Manager and the product team

Work with the product team to test improvements and help set quality standards

Improve how we work

Suggest and make improvements to system settings (Xero, QuickBooks Online and other apps) and to how clients send us information, so that work runs smoothly

Communicate with clients

Be the main contact for day-to-day bookkeeping questions from business owners and finance leads

About You

7+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, including multi-currency, inventory/COGS and complex reconciliations

Deep experience working directly on either Australian or US clients. Experience with both is welcome but not required

Strong skills in Dext, and experience working with Shopify, payment gateways and PSP/EFT integrations

Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, TPAR, GST treatment, FBT data capture and month-end close

Advanced Xero skills (Xero Advisor certified or equivalent)

Experience working with Deputy

If you are applying for our US portfolio

Strong knowledge of US GAAP fundamentals, cash and accrual accounting, multi-state sales tax, 1099 reporting, payroll journals and month-end close

Advanced QuickBooks Online skills (QuickBooks ProAdvisor certified or equivalent), plus working knowledge of Xero

Experience working with Gusto, Bill.com and Stripe

Availability to work hours that overlap with the US business day

You are open to working with an AI agent as a teammate: you check its work and give clear feedback

You can explain mistakes and unusual cases clearly so that others can learn from them

Communication

Excellent written and spoken English, especially in online, platform-based conversations

Ability to explain accounting to business owners who are not finance experts
