Job summary

Alba Renewables is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the BD team and expand its renewable energy project portfolio in the Philippines.

You will identify, evaluate, and secure new opportunities across solar, wind, and energy storage, while coordinating with regulators and stakeholders to ensure commercial feasibility.

The role requires a decade of experience in renewables, strong market knowledge, and proven leadership to grow a robust project pipeline and drive high-value initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in business development, project development, or commercial roles within renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of Philippine renewable energy regulations and processes (DOE, ERC, NGCP, DENR, LGUs).
• Experience with solar, wind, and/or energy storage technologies.
• Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, market analysis, and commercial risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate solar, wind, and energy storage opportunities across the Philippines.
• Conduct market assessments, including regulatory reviews, grid analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
• Maintain and grow a high-quality project development pipeline.
• Lead financial modeling, project valuation, and commercial risk assessments.
• Oversee early-stage due diligence and present go/no-go recommendations to senior leadership.
• Establish and maintain relationships with landowners, developers, EPCs, LGUs, and regulatory agencies.
• Lead negotiations for NDAs, MoUs, Joint Development Agreements, and land-related contracts.
• Manage early-stage permitting and regulatory compliance with DOE, ERC, NGCP, DENR, and local government units.
• Monitor policy developments and assess their impact on the company’s project pipeline.
• Manage and mentor the Business Development team.
• Oversee preparation of investment briefs, opportunity assessments, and internal presentations.
• Ensure effective coordination with technical, legal, finance, ESG, and project development teams.
