Job summary

Goods & Services is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement event-driven architecture and new backend capabilities. You will build scalable services, manage event schemas, and integrate with internal and third-party systems to support credit management and reporting workflows.

You will ensure production readiness, performance, and reliable rollout of new capabilities across domains, while leveraging tools like AWS EventBridge and SQS for resilient, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with event-driven architecture and designing reliable event-based systems.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and creating resilient patterns.
• Strong domain knowledge in lending or credit-risk workflows is a plus.
• Data and reporting integrations including BI tools such as Tableau.
• Experience building greenfield backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with AWS messaging and distributed systems (SQS, EventBridge).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain event-driven infrastructure (event buses, schema management, DLQs).
• Develop backend integrations with internal and third-party services using resilient patterns.
• Design backend capabilities for credit management and automated workflows.
• Build event-driven reporting solutions leveraging multi-domain data.
• Support production readiness, traffic migration, and controlled rollout of new services.
