Job summary

EROAD Ltd in Manila is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java, AI-Native) to own complex backend systems and drive AI-enabled backend development.

You will design, build and operate backend services with microservices, RESTful APIs, and AI-assisted tooling, while mentoring teammates and contributing to a strong CI/CD culture. The role includes on-call responsibilities and a hybrid on-site work pattern in Manila.

Qualifications

• Strong backend track record with AI-native development.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native architecture preferred.
• Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD and trunk-based development.
• Production monitoring, alerting and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate complex backend services.
• Direct AI coding agents and verify outputs before ship.
• Prevent AI failure modes before production.
• Own production health and observability.
• Mentor teammates and raise code quality.
• Participate in on-call rotation and on-call readiness.
• Work within trunk-based CI/CD delivery model.
