Job summary

BBS, a firm delivering bookkeeping, BAS, payroll, and compliance services, seeks a Senior Bookkeeper in a permanent work-from-home role for its Australian client portfolio. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, GST, and ensure audit-ready records with accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Australian bookkeeping and payroll experience within a public practice environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Proven experience with complex bookkeeping, GST, and payroll issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records for clients. Record transactions, reconcile accounts, and manage ledgers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in line with accounting standards
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements and other accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Payroll processing, including complex payroll calculations, in line with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment allocations, and collections
• Prepare activity statements, GST reconciliations, PAYG, and BAS
• Stay on top of changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, providing clear and responsive support
• Spot potential issues early and take proactive steps to resolve them
