Job summary

BBS is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to manage client bookkeeping, payroll, and GST with a permanent work-from-home setup. You will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, prepare reports, and ensure audit-ready compliance for multiple clients.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of Australian bookkeeping and payroll experience within a public practice environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Proven experience with complex bookkeeping, GST, and payroll issues.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and proactive when working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records for clients. Record transactions, reconcile accounts, and manage ledgers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in line with accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements and other accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Payroll processing, including complex payroll calculations, in line with relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment allocations, and collections.
• Prepare activity statements, GST reconciliations, PAYG, and BAS.
• Stay on top of changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, providing clear and responsive support.
• Spot potential issues early and take proactive steps to resolve them.
