Join Acquire Intelligence as a Senior AU Payroll Specialist and take ownership of accurate, end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing for Australian and New Zealand brands and entities.
You'll play a key role in keeping payroll operations running smoothly, supporting your team, and ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Prepare end-to-end fortnightly Australian and New Zealand pay runs for assigned brands and entities, ready for onshore review and authorisation
Perform data entry for new hires, employee changes, and terminations within the Australian monthly pay run
Validate timesheet and roster data from Dayforce and resolve exceptions in collaboration with the Payroll Specialist
Process new starters, terminations, variations, leave, deductions, and entitlements accurately in line with configured rules
Conduct the first review and audit of each pay run prior to onshore submission
Prepare Superannuation, PAYG, and deduction reconciliations for onshore review
Produce scheduled and ad-hoc payroll reports and prepare off-cycle and bonus pays as directed
Resolve tier 1 and tier 2 employee and manager payroll queries within SLA, escalating complex matters appropriately
Perform quality checks on Payroll Specialist work and provide guidance and peer support
Identify process-improvement opportunities and communicate potential issues with proposed solutions before deadlines are at risk
2+ years of end-to-end payroll processing experience, with Australian payroll experience in a complex or high-volume environment
Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll compliance, including Fair Work, NES, PAYG, STP, and Payroll Tax
Experience using large-scale payroll or rostering systems; Dayforce strongly preferred
Hands-on experience with Superannuation calculations and employee terminations
Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, grouping, and filtering for reconciliation and reporting
Proven ability to investigate and resolve payroll issues and respond to employee and manager queries within agreed timeframes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering reliable and timely pay runs
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with a professional, service-oriented approach
High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive and confidential payroll information
Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset and ability to adapt to change
