Job summary

Acquire Intelligence is hiring a Payroll Officer to manage high-volume, accurate payroll data entry and processing for Australian and New Zealand payroll cycles. You will review timesheets, validate roster exceptions, and ensure compliant payroll records in Dayforce or alternative systems.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and a collaborative team approach within a leading global outsourcer known for internal growth and staff development.

Qualifications

• Australian payroll experience preferred but will consider based on applications.
• NZ experience an advantage but not required.
• High volume data entry experience required.
• Dayforce experience preferred but not required; otherwise PayGlobal, SAP, UKG or Workday are acceptable.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-volume, accurate payroll data entry for new hires and changes.
• Chase and validate timesheet and roster exceptions in Dayforce.
• Enter leave, deductions and entitlement updates per configured rules.
• Maintain payroll records digitally in line with SOPs and SOE.
• Triages queries and supports reconciliations and standard reporting.

A Glimpse into Your New Role

The Payroll officer is responsible for high-volume, accurate payroll data entry and transactional processing supporting fortnightly Australian and New Zealand payroll, prepared for review by the Senior Payroll Specialist and onshore sign-off.

Transactional Processing

• Perform high-volume, accurate data entry for new hires, employee changes and standard terminations.
• Chase and validate timesheet and roster exceptions in Dayforce.
• Enter leave, deductions and entitlement updates against configured rules.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation digitally in line with Acquire’s SOE (no hardcopy).

Queries & Support

• Triage tier-1 employee and manager queries and support inbox management; resolve routine items and …
• Support reconciliations and standard reporting as directed.

Quality, Compliance & Improvement

• Follow payroll SOPs and Acquire’s SOE, least-access and no-hardcopy production-floor rules.
• Support compliance activities within agreed processes and SOPs.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Flag anomalies and potential issues early.

What You’ll Bring

Required Skills & Competencies

• Australian payroll experience preferred but will consider revisiting based on applications
• NZ experience an advantage but not required
• High volume data entry experience
• Dayforce experience preferred but not required
• If no Dayforce experience, the following are also acceptable: PayGlobal, SAP, Chris21, UKG, Workday
• Strong attention to detail is essential
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential
• Comfortable navigation of MS Office including Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams
