Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a Senior AI Software Developer to design, build and scale responsible AI and Generative AI solutions in a hybrid Manila office. You will shape engineering practices and deliver measurable business value while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes advanced AI development, secure scalable services, and leadership in AI engineering standards within the Technology – AI Centre of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in designing, building and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Excellent Python expertise and familiarity with AI/ML libraries and APIs.
• Strong capability in Generative AI techniques including RAG, embeddings and vector search.
• Experience designing secure, scalable AI services integrated with enterprise data.
• Proven technical leadership, problem solving and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-driven solutions using LLMs and Generative AI tech.
• Own end-to-end AI pipelines: data prep, model selection, deployment and monitoring.
• Define advanced AI solution patterns including embeddings and vector search.
• Set AI engineering standards: API integration, testing, CI/CD and docs.
• Provide architecture reviews, code reviews and mentorship across teams.

Job description

Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 10AM to 6PM or 12PM to 8PM Manila time

Employment type: Permanent

Location: Makati City, Metro Manila

Pay range: Php 104,000 to Php 142,000

What will you do as a Senior AI Software Developer?

Reporting to the Head of AI Development, AI CoE, your accountabilities will include:

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-driven solutions using large language models, multimodal models and other Generative AI technologies to solve real-world business challenges.
• Own the end-to-end technical design of AI pipelines, including data preparation, model selection, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Design and implement advanced AI solution patterns including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings and vector search.
• Establish and maintain secure, scalable and reliable AI engineering standards, including API integration, automated testing, CI/CD and operational documentation.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, mentoring and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate AI into products and services

• Demonstrates strong capability in implementing Generative AI solutions, including RAG, embeddings, vector search and model evaluation approaches.
• Shows proven expertise in designing secure, scalable AI services and integrating them with enterprise applications and data sources.
• Exhibits strong technical leadership, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills to translate business needs into effective AI solutions

Desirable:

• Shows ability to work with AI platforms and frameworks such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama or LangChain.
• Demonstrates experience with graph databases, agentic systems, workflow orchestration or low-code/no-code AI tooling.
• Displays initiative in mentoring engineers, developing reusable engineering standards and contributing to AI communities of practice.
