POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the VP for Finance and People Administration to ensure the accounting operations will run smoothly and financial reports are prepared on time. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the client’s organization, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and implementing accounting principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact, delivering tailored accounting solutions, managing budget and financial forecasts, delivering financial insights, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax authorities, and other government agencies to ensure compliance, implement and update financial policies, controls, and risk management procedures, and provide proactive tax advice.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in financial processes and design and execute improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency, working alongside cross‑functional teams.
- Collaborate with external and internal personnel to execute functions and liaise with banks for payroll account openings, updates, and transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and assist head of Finance and Accounting with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Develop strategies to reach goals, provide training for team members, ensuring clear communication of roles and responsibilities, and maintain an open channel for feedback while overseeing day‑to‑day operations to guarantee tasks are completed on time and with precision.
- Review disbursements, supplier invoices, contracts and agreements; reconcile intercompany transactions; manage recording and inventory of the multiple‑client’s fixed assets; initiate monthly, quarterly and annual closing of books; prepare and analyze management accounts; prepare supporting records and audit schedules; update bookkeeping and recording of transactions, maintenance, and review of general ledger; review timesheets for payroll processing and prepare/process payroll.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- At least 5 years of full‑cycle accounting experience.
- CPA license preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Solid knowledge of general accounting and accounting principles and standards, including IFRS.
- Hands‑on payroll processing experience.
- International client service experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, Odoo, and Xero.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
