Key Responsibilities

Preparation

• Prepare individual returns with a Schedule C business (1040 & Sch C) and business tax returns (1120, 1120‑S, 1065) and associated schedules and financial statements across all states and nearly every industry.
• Organize and research client data; synthesize complex and diverse financial information.
• Communicate with clients on an ongoing basis to gather what's needed for compliance and filing.

Review & Quality Assurance

• Perform high‑level self‑review of complex federal, state, and local returns, using AI‑assisted diagnostics (e.g., triplicate‑scan consensus checks) to validate critical fields before submission.
• Reconcile returns against client source documents — financial statements, general ledgers, K‑1s, W‑2s.
• Verify all filings align with current IRS regulations, state laws, and applicable international tax treaties.
• Prepare Book‑to‑Tax workpapers, notes, and any other required documentation.
• Identify tax savings opportunities, credits, and deductions to maximize value for a range of client profiles.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years preparing and reviewing both individual and entity‑level tax returns (Local or US Taxation).
• Technical: Proficiency with cloud‑based tax software, Lacerte preferred; strong Excel skills; comfort with digital communication tools; Google Suite (Gmail, G‑Chat, Google Meet)
• Other: Broad working knowledge of industry‑specific tax treatment; ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
