Job summary

IBM Philippines is seeking an experienced SAP Concur and S/4HANA integration consultant to join IBM Consulting in Manila. You will analyze incidents, perform RCA, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex integrations between SAP Concur, S/4HANA, and backend ERP systems.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on SAP Concur experience, end-to-end implementations, and strong testing (UT/SIT/UAT).

Key Responsibilities

Your role and responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve day-to-day incidents related to SAP Concur, S/4HANA master data, expense posting configuration, and related business processes, providing root cause analysis (RCA) and short-term and long-term solutions within defined SLAs.
• Perform ticket triage and accurately identify whether issues are related to user errors, master data, configuration, training gaps, system defects, integration failures, or cross-team dependencies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot interface failures across SAP Concur, American Express Global Business Travel (AMEX GBT), and S/4HANA, analyze interface records/logs, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Work closely with technical teams to investigate and resolve ABAP, SAP Integration Suite/CPI, and middleware-related errors.
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot end-to-end SAP Concur and S/4HANA business processes, with a strong understanding of integration touchpoints and downstream impacts.
• Provide functional expertise for Concur Expense and Travel, including expense processing, master data, expense posting, interfaces, and integration with backend ERP systems.
• Collaborate with business teams to explain root causes, provide guidance on error resolution, and recommend preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents and user errors.
• Coordinate with IT, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical defects and ensure smooth implementation of system changes.
• Support SAP releases, HRSP updates, instance refreshes, and other system maintenance activities, including impact assessment and regression testing.
• Design and execute Unit Testing (UT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including comprehensive positive and negative test scenarios.
• Support reporting teams with functional expertise and test scenarios required for reporting validation and integration testing.
• Prepare detailed functional specifications for technical teams developing custom integrations or enhancements, including business rules, interface requirements, error handling, dependencies, and comprehensive test cases.
• Provide recommendations to technical teams on development approaches that improve maintainability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production supportability.
• Diagnose and resolve system defects, integration errors, configuration issues, and module-specific problems to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
• Proactively identify recurring defects and opportunities for process or system improvements, and drive long-term solutions to minimize production incidents.
• Maintain clear documentation of incident analysis, solutions, configurations, functional specifications, test results, and support procedures.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing SAP Concur Expense and Travel implementations and production support.
• Strong experience integrating SAP Concur with backend ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4HANA, and experience with SAP SuccessFactors/Core HR integrations.
• Strong experience with SAP Integration Suite/Cloud Integration (CPI) and/or SAP Integration Central Services (ICS) integration environments.
• Minimum 2 end-to-end SAP Concur implementation experiences in large enterprise organizations, covering requirements, design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Strong understanding of Concur-to-S/4HANA master data, expense posting, and financial integration processes.
• Proven experience troubleshooting interfaces, middleware, integration failures, ABAP-related errors, and data mapping issues in collaboration with technical teams.
• Strong incident management, troubleshooting, RCA, problem-solving, and SLA-driven production support experience.
• Ability to independently perform ticket triage, gap analysis, defect diagnosis, and solution identification.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing UT, SIT, UAT, regression, positive, and negative test cases.
• Experience preparing detailed functional specifications for custom integrations and technical developments, with sufficient detail for development and testing.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration dependencies and the ability to assess downstream impacts of configuration or technical changes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, IT, Operations, and Supply Chain stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to translate business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Mining industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience supporting large, complex, geographically distributed organizations.
