Overview
As a Technical Sales Representative, you are expected to act as a liaison between suppliers/manufacturers of Electrical and Instrumentation and Control Engineering-related products and the clients of the industry. To provide technical expertise, product information, and solutions to clients, aiming to match project requirements with the appropriate products while building strong relationships.
Responsibilities
- Present to consulting engineers and asset owners the relevant E&I engineering products and services.
- Build long-lasting business relationships with new asset owners relevant to the product as well as current stakeholders, and ensure their technical and operational needs are met.
- Assess technical drawings and specifications associated with stakeholders\' projects, and assist with the tenders and quotations for both long and short-term supply contracts.
- Negotiate and implement contracts with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on E&I solutions being sold relevant to the specific customer and project needs.
- Update knowledge of market conditions, goods and services.
- Monitor the clients\' changing needs and report developments to sales management.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
- Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
- Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommend changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
- Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other tasks as may be assigned to you.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other related qualifications
- At least three (3) years of experience in the same field
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build long-term relationships
- Fluent in oral and written communications
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Must be proficient in Excel
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- With a valid and clean driving license
