Job summary

ABB is seeking a Sales Support Specialist, Bid & Quotations - Critical Power to develop competitive bids and quotations for customers across Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and the Asia Pacific region.

You will work with Sales, Projects, and Operations to deliver technically sound, commercially competitive proposals while managing risks and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the bid process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic/mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in bid preparation, quotations, or proposal management.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and Critical Power applications.
• Experience in preparing technical/commercial proposals and cost estimates.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks and bid profitability.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and pricing.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder management across APAC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage bids, quotations, and tenders for Critical Power solutions with accurate proposals.
• Lead bid coordination, gather inputs, ensure quality and on-time submissions.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks in bidding.

This position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

As a Sales Support Specialist, Bid & Quotations - Critical Power, you will play a key role in developing competitive bids, estimates, and quotations for customers across Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and the wider Asia Pacific region. You will work closely with Sales, Projects, Operations, and regional stakeholders to deliver technically sound and commercially competitive proposals while ensuring effective risk management, compliance, and customer satisfaction throughout the bid process.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Develop and manage competitive bids, quotations, and tenders for Critical Power solutions by preparing accurate technical and commercial proposals, cost estimates, pricing, and trading conditions aligned with customer requirements and ABB standards.
• Lead bid coordination activities by collecting technical and commercial inputs, ensuring proposal quality and compliance, maintaining bid documentation, and delivering submissions within required timelines.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial and contractual risks throughout the bidding process, facilitating risk reviews and ensuring alignment with ABB's contract review and risk management framework.
• Collaborate with Sales Managers, Projects, Operations, customers, and regional stakeholders to provide technical support, maintain positive customer relationships, track bid performance, and drive continuous improvement through win/loss analysis and pipeline monitoring.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in bid preparation, quotations, sales support, application engineering, or proposal management within Critical Power, UPS, Electrical Power Distribution, or related electrical industries.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, Critical Power applications, power protection solutions, and associated quotation methodologies, with the ability to evaluate technical and commercial requirements.
• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals, cost estimates, tender documentation, and profitability assessments for customer projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify commercial and contractual risks, evaluate bid profitability, and support effective decision-making.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis, pricing calculations, bid preparation, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multicultural teams throughout the Asia Pacific region and communicate confidently in English.
