Job summary

DATEM INC. in Makati seeks an experienced Safety Officer to lead construction safety programs and enforce regulations. You will drive safety initiatives, conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and training sessions to build a proactive safety culture.

The role requires 5+ years in construction safety, expertise in risk assessment and JHA/JSA, and compliance with RA11058 and DOLE OSHC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety/related field required.
• COSH certificate mandatory; DOLE OSH practitioner certification a plus.
• Additional certificates (BOSH, First Aid, BLS, ISO 45001) advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of construction Safety Officer experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and toolbox talks to reinforce safety.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate safety training sessions.
• Prepare risk assessments, JHA/JSA, and hazard controls.
• Ensure compliance with DOLE OSHC and Philippine OSH laws.

Education

• Any bachelor’s degree

• Holder of COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate

• Additional Certifications such as BOSH, First Aid, BLS, and ISO 45001 are an advantage.

• DOLE-accredited OSH Practitioner Certification is a plus.

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Safety Officer in construction.

• Proven experience in conducting site inspections, toolbox meetings, incident investigations, and safety training sessions.

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of emergency drills and emergency response.

• Knowledge of Crisis Management.

• Familiar with DOLE, OSHC and other government mandated safety documentations and reports.

• Knowledge of Philippine OSH laws and standards (RA11058, DO 198-18)

• Proficiency in Risk assessment, JHA/ JSA preparation, and workplace hazard control

• Proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
