Job summary

Job description

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections across restaurant facilities, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures

• Develop, update and communicate safety policies, procedures and guidelines to all staff members

• Provide safety training and inductions to new employees and ongoing coaching to existing staff

• Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and local health codes

• Investigate safety incidents, accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending preventative actions

• Maintain detailed safety records, documentation and compliance reports for auditing purposes

• Collaborate with management to develop and implement risk assessment strategies

• Coordinate with external health and safety authorities, regulators and auditors as required

• Perform routine maintenance checks on safety equipment, emergency systems and fire safety apparatus

• Lead safety awareness campaigns and promote a proactive safety culture across the organization

Qualification

• College level

• A relevant safety qualification or certification in occupational health and safety or food safety management

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar health and safety role, preferably within the hospitality, food service or restaurant industry

• Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and local health and safety legislation applicable in the Philippines

• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation procedures

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, educate and influence staff at all levels

• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation

• Strong organizational and time management abilities with capacity to prioritize multiple tasks

• Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and management to achieve safety objectives
