Job summary

Cleanvironment Waste Management Services Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to lead safety management on projects including hazard identification and risk assessment.

You will implement safety protocols, conduct site inspections, and coordinate with auditors and inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires 5+ years in construction-related safety, DOLE-aligned training, and certification in OSH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in pipe-laying works and construction industry experience; waste management preferred.
• DOLE or DOLE-accredited training and OSH program implementation.
• Knowledge of DOLE regulations and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conducts site inspections to identify hazards and ensure safety.
• Assist external auditor/inspector (Client, LGU, Government Sector).
• Formulates HIRAC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Control).
• Keeps up to date on safety regulations as directed by DOLE.
• Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments during inspections.
• Implement corrective measures to prevent accidents.
• Comply with DOLE requirements and maintain safe environment for workers.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses; provide safety recommendations.
• Conduct toolbox talks and train workers on safety topics per OSHA.
• Prepare Health, Safety, Security and Environment reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The role of a Safety Officer typically involves a more advanced level of safety management responsibilities, with a focus on implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance in the workplace. A Safety Officer is often expected to have more experience and may take on leadership or supervisory duties in larger organizations or higher-risk industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts site inspection to be aware of potential hazards in the workplace
• Assist external auditor / inspector (Client, LGU, Government Sector etc.)
• Formulate HIRAC [Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Control]
• Keeps up to date on latest safety regulations as directed by DOLE
• Identify all hazards and conduct risk assessments during regular safety inspections.
• Make necessary corrective measures during inspection as needed to prevent accident
• Complies with DOLE requirements and ensures a safe and healthy environment for all the workers assigned in the project
• Investigate all incidents, accidents and near misses. Gives recommendation for any improvement in safety standards that needs to be made
• Conducts Toolbox meeting and train workers on safety topics required by OSHA
• Prepares reports related to Health, Safety, Security and Environment
• Performs other duties that maybe assigned or required

Qualification

1. Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or a related field and or any 4-year course.

2. Experience:

• With 5 years above in pipe-layering works and relevant experience in a construction industry / waste management.
• DOLE or DOLE-accredited Training Organization and can implements an OSH program
• Knowledgeable with compliances with DOLE requirement

3. Skills:

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment and management, and accident investigation.
• Excellent writing skills for reporting.

4. Required Certifications

• Has BOSH and COSH certification
• Safety Officer Certification
