Job summary

SYSTECH INDUSTRIES CORPORATION in the Philippines seeks a Safety Officer to implement all Safety Programs and regulations on project sites from planning to construction, ensuring personnel are educated and informed about safety practices.

Responsibilities include inspecting worksites, reporting non-compliance, investigating accidents, conducting hazard analyses, maintaining safety records, and supporting corrective actions while promoting safety culture.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Safety training and COSH are required.

• Reviews corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Provides safety information, advice and recommendations as required.
• Sets a good safety example at all times.
• Positively influences management to take required safety actions.
• Safety committee minutes and safety referral reports.
• Provides meaningful safety statistics and safety performance measurements.
• Keeps updated about construction hazards from various sources.

Implements all Safety Programs and Regulations in the project site in all stages of planning and construction. Ensure all personnel are educated and well informed in safety practices in performing all aspects of work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Inspects worksites, reports conditions and practices not in compliance with occupational safety and health standards, codes and regulations;
• Observes operations and activities, reports unsafe acts and behaviors;
• Investigates accidents, near misses and safety related problems;
• Prepares hazard analysis of work methods and procedures;
• Determines hazards and causes of safety problems;
• Records hazards and safety concerns discussed in committee meetings;
• Reviews the corrective actions of manager/supervisor to ensure compliance with safety standards, codes and regulations. Recommends revisions or improvements as called for;
• Provides assistance in implementing safety program corrective actions;
• Provides safety information, advice and recommendations as required;
• Sets good safety example at all times;
• Positively influences management to take required safety actions;
• Safety committee minutes
• Safety referral reports
• Provides meaningful safety statistics and safety performance measurements on a periodic basis;
• Keeps updated about construction hazards as obtained from the news media, publications and other forms of communication; and
