Job summary

KBD Pulp Mould Packaging Equipment and Products Philippines Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to join our manufacturing team.

The role focuses on implementing safety programs, maintaining compliance with DOLE, ISO standards, and conducting risk assessments across production areas. You will lead safety orientations, inspections, incident investigations, and maintain safety records using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
• Must have completed Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) or other DOLE-recognized OSH training applicable to manufacturing.
• Preferably 1–2 years of Safety Officer experience in a manufacturing company.

Job description

Pulp / Pulp Molded Packaging Manufacturing

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field is preferred.

• Must have completed Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) or other DOLE-recognized OSH training applicable to manufacturing.

• Preferably with at least 1–2 years of Safety Officer experience in a manufacturing company.

• Knowledgeable in RA 11058, DOLE Department Order No. 198-18, Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Knowledgeable in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control (HIRAC), workplace safety inspections, accident/incident investigation, and corrective and preventive actions.

• Familiar with manufacturing hazards involving machinery, electrical systems, chemicals, dust, noise, forklifts, hot surfaces, manual handling, and fire hazards.

• Knowledgeable in PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine safety, chemical handling/SDS, emergency preparedness, fire safety, and first aid.

• Knowledgeable in internal and external safety audits, including preparation for DOLE, customer, certification, and compliance audits.

• Capable of preparing and maintaining complete safety and compliance documentation, including inspection reports, incident/accident reports, HIRAC, training records, permits, safety meeting minutes, corrective action reports, and other OSH records.

• Able to monitor and follow up audit findings, observations, non-conformities, corrective actions, and their closure/effectiveness.

• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, FSC, CSR/CSER, or other management system/customer audits is an advantage.

• Able to conduct safety orientations, toolbox meetings, safety training, emergency drills, and safety awareness activities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for safety monitoring, documentation, reports, and presentations.

• Good communication, documentation, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Willing to conduct regular safety inspections in production, pulping, forming, dry press, warehouse, maintenance, and other plant areas.

• Experience in pulp, paper, packaging, or machine-intensive manufacturing is an advantage.
