About the role
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, guests, contractors, and visitors. The position implements and monitors workplace safety programs, conducts inspections and risk assessments, ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, and promotes a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key responsibilities
Implement and maintain the company's occupational health and safety policies and programs.
Ensure compliance with applicable DOLE, OSH standards, and other relevant safety regulations.
Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
Perform risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
Monitor compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, near-misses, and other safety incidents.
Prepare incident and accident investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
Develop and implement emergency response procedures.
Conduct safety orientations for new employees and contractors.
Organize and facilitate regular safety training and toolbox meetings.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Must have appropriate DOLE-recognized safety training/certification, depending on the required Safety Officer level of the organization.
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and workplace safety practices.
Experience in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to conduct safety orientations and training effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Willing to conduct regular workplace inspections and respond to emergencies when required.
