About the role
We are seeking a highly competent and certified Safety Officer 3 (SO3) to oversee, implement, and elevate our workplace occupational safety and health programs. In this role, you will be responsible for moving beyond simple compliance monitoring to actively analyzing risks, developing site-specific safety policies, leading incident investigations, and cultivating a proactive safety culture across our operations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, update, and implement comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs tailored to company operations and local labor standards.
- Regularly conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Controls (HIRAC) to identify workplace risks and implement strict preventative measures.
- Lead routine safety and environmental audits across facilities/job sites; evaluate heavy equipment, scaffolding, ventilation, and fire safety systems.
- Serve as the lead investigator for accidents, near-misses, and occupational illnesses. Determine root causes, draft detailed reports, and outline immediate corrective/preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure complete compliance with local government regulations (e.g., DOLE OSH standards). Timely prepare and submit required statutory reports.
- Facilitate safety orientations, ongoing toolbox talks, emergency response simulations, and specialized safety campaigns for employees and subcontractors.
- Formulate, evaluate, and test workplace emergency response and disaster management plans (fire, earthquake, chemical spills, etc.).
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven, hands‑on experience in Occupational Safety and Health management, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, or heavy construction sectors.
- Completed the 40-hour Basic OSH Course (BOSH for general industries or COSH for construction).
- Completed an additional 48 hours of advanced or specialized OSH training.
- Valid DOLE Accreditation as an OSH Practitioner is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of safety laws, local labor codes, and specialized environmental standards.
- Strong technical proficiency in conducting safety inspections, reading blueprints, or assessing structural/machine hazards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage both site workers and executive management.
- Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving and documentation abilities.
