Job summary

Powerchina B7 Philippines Corp. is seeking a Safety Engineer to design safe systems, evaluate risks, and ensure compliance with health and safety laws across project sites in the Philippines.

The role involves leading safety studies, reviewing layouts, and coordinating with stakeholders. You will apply expertise in risk assessments, blueprints, and safety modeling software, with a preference for AutoCAD and shop drawing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Professional electrical engineer with valid registration and license.
• Fluent English ability (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of risk assessments, blueprints, and safety modeling software.
• Understanding of safety rules, machinery guards, and emergency response plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager in running technical safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA).
• Help build safe layouts, select safe materials, and implement protective controls.
• Inspect equipment, fire systems, and workspaces to prevent incidents.
• Investigate accidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure operations comply with local and international safety standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documents and verify work complies with drawings and specs.
• Travel to project sites as required.

Job description

A safety engineer designs safe systems, evaluates technical risks, and ensures machinery, facilities, and work processes meet health and safety laws. They focus on engineered solutions rather than just daily site rules.

Responsibilities

To assist project manager in:

• Run technical safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, and FMEA to find potential system failures.
• Work with teams to build safe layouts, pick safe materials, and add protective controls.
• Check equipment, fire systems, and workspaces to stop accidents before they happen.
• Look into workplace accidents to find root causes and fix the problem.
• Make sure all operations follow local and international safety standards.
• Supervise project execution, evaluate, and monitor manpower productivity.
• Schedule the work in accordance with project timeline and deadlines.
• Maintain the different phases of the project and evaluate all the technical problems and resolve them.
• Maintain the safety measures on site and ensure that all quality control regulations are met.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare Technical documents and ensure that the work was carried in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
• Execute other tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Candidate must possess a professional electrical engineer with a valid certificate of registration and a valid professional license.
• Healthy, no major illnesses and diseases.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Know how to do risk assessments, read blueprints, and use safety modeling software.
• Understand safety rules, machinery guards, and emergency response plans.
• Able to train workers and write clear safety reports.
• Required language(s): English
• Good command in writtenand spokenEnglish
• Preference will be given to the candidate with working experience in power transmission line project.
• Required Skill(s): Knowledge/experience in AUTOCAD and SHOP DRAWING is an advantage.
• Your work location will be mainly based anywhere in the Philippines and may transfer to other location depending on projects, you are required to travel when necessary.
