Job summary

Datamatics seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide telephone-based clinical triage and patient support for a 24x7 nurse triage line. The role involves solo assessments, escalation to physicians or emergency services, and patient education within approved protocols.

Candidates must hold an active New York State RN license, be adept with EMR/CRM systems (ModMed preferred), and comply with HIPAA and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted New York State RN license – mandatory.
• Active Registered Nurse credential.
• EMR/CRM systems experience; ModMed exposure an advantage.
• Orthopedic / musculoskeletal experience preferred.
• Physician-group, health-system, ambulatory, or similar clinical experience preferred.
• BLS preferred; ACLS an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured clinical assessment of patient symptoms, duration, severity, history, and risk factors.
• Apply approved triage protocols and clinical decision-support tools to determine level of care.
• Identify red flags and promptly escalate urgent or emergent cases to physician/on-call provider or emergency services.
• Provide clear, evidence-based patient education and next-step guidance within approved scope.
• Document assessment, disposition, escalation, and follow-up actions in EMR/CRM.
• Meet HIPAA requirements in a 24x7 environment.
• Participate in training, certification, quality calibration, coaching, and continuous improvement activities.
