Job summary

CareDesk is hiring an RCM Associate to support accounts receivable, medical coding, and patient financial services in our Philippines on-site team. The role ensures clean claims, timely reimbursements, and clear patient communication.

You will work across RCM functions with a collaborative, detail-oriented approach. Responsibilities include billing accuracy, claim resubmissions, eligibility verification, and proactive patient contact.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Experience in a healthcare-related role and supporting English-speaking countries.
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems and CMS 1500 claims.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Receivable, verify claim status, and resubmit as needed.
  • Review codes for accuracy and address denials in Medical Coding.
  • Input patient information, verify insurance eligibility, and generate cost estimates.
  • Handle patient communications via phone, email, and digital channels.

Position: RCM Associate
Pay Range: P40,000 - P45,000
Department: Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
Reports to: RCM Department Leads
Job Location: On site - Philippines
Job Type: Full-Time
Coverage Hours: PST Business Hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST)

The RCM Associate supports key parts of CareDesk’s Revenue Cycle: Accounts Receivable, Medical Coding, and Patient Financial Services. This role helps ensure clean claims, timely reimbursements, correct coding, and smooth patient communication. It is a flexible position that shifts based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Check payer portals or call insurance to understand denials and claim status.

  • Contact patients when updated insurance information is needed.

  • Fix and resubmit claims using approved procedures.

  • File appeals, elevate when needed, and accurately document status.

  • Escalate claims older than 90 days to leadership.

Medical Coding

  • Perform charge review for E/M visits and procedures at increasing complexity levels

  • Ensure accuracy of coding based on medical chart notes and flag as appropriate

  • Work on assigned coding denials, claim errors, and rejections

  • Provide coding updates to team leads for provider distribution

Patient Financial Services

  • Accurately input information for patient pre-registration

  • Verify insurance eligibility.

  • Handle patient/insurance communication for verification needs.

  • Generate cost estimates.

  • Process authorization and referral requests.

Patient Communication

  • Handle inbound calls for billing inquiries and payment collection

  • Respond to patient requests via phone, email, and digital messaging platforms

  • Maintain professional communication standards with all stakeholders

Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience in customer service roles supporting english speaking countries

  • Prior experience in a healthcare-related role

  • Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience

    • Experience using EPIC EMR Systems

    • Familiarity with professional CMS 1500 claims

    • Patient communication experience via phone and digital messaging platforms

    • Knowledge of how to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

  • Familiarity with Google Suite products (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, etc.)

Preferred

  • Experience with Dermatology billing

  • CPCD Certification or equivalent medical coding credentials

Education & Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management with demonstrated proficiency across multiple RCM functions

  • Proven track record working in high-volume healthcare billing environments

  • Experience working with insurance portals and payor communications

  • Advanced proficiency in EPIC Professional Billing

  • Deep technical understanding of insurance claim lifecycle systems

  • Applied knowledge of medical coding frameworks CPT, ICD-10, and modifier logic

  • High-level navigation and systems fluency across payer portals

  • Technical competency with virtual payment platforms

  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance frameworks

  • Attendance and reliability, including consistent participation in meetings, daily check-ins, and scheduled work hours

  • Adaptability demonstrated through successful transitions between departments and the ability to maintain performance across different RCM functions

  • Team collaboration and proactive communication with leadership, onsite teams, and cross-functional partners
