Job summary

Willis Towers Watson in Manila is seeking a Retirement Implementation Specialist to join a global team ensuring pension plan design features align with US legislation. You will work during the Manila night shift to coordinate with US onshore colleagues and focus on pension calculations, testing, and monthly processing tasks.

The role offers exposure to pension and health/welfare administration outsourcing for millions of plan participants globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, CS, Engineering, MIS or similar with strong quantitative coursework.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced experience with Excel.
• Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution is required.
• Experience with MSSQL.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Self-motivated and able to stay focused on assigned projects.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Experience with US Pension Plans is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with the US and/or UK is preferred but not required.
• Experience with XML is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Understand how pension calculations work and the business rules behind them.
• Test plan execution and release testing activities.
• Raise bugs/issues found during testing to the Lead RIS.
• Run calculation regression and update test cases as needed.
• Execute monthly processing items (Cash Balance Rollups, Monthly Interest Rates).
• Configure new clients’ pension plan XML and support implementation.

Description

The Retirement Implementation Specialist role will be an integral part of a global team that will ensure that our systems accurately reflect client pension plan design features and comply with current US legislation.

The Role

• Be part of a pioneer group in Manila that will establish and grow knowledge around the pension
  plan designs, as well as the client and Government-specific rules and requirements that govern
  them.


• Have the opportunity to work within a line of business that provides pension, and health and welfare administration outsourcing solutions for nearly eight million benefit plan participants globally, including more than five million in North America.


• Work on the Manila night shift to work real-time with the rest of our US onshore colleagues.


• Have immediate focus on:
  
  
  
  • Understanding how pension calculations work and the business rules that drive them.
  
  
  • Test plan execution.
  
  
  • Raising bugs / issues found based on testing to your Lead RIS.
  
  
  • Release testing.
  
  
  • Running calculation regression and updating its list of test cases as needed.
  
  
  • Execution of monthly processing items (Cash Balance Rollups, Monthly Interest Rates).
  
  
  • Configuration of new clients’ pension plan XML.
  
  
  
  


• Eventually grow into:
  
  
  
  1. Fully understanding the client pension plans and system rules.
  
  
  2. Fulfill responsibilities of a Primary RIS.
