Overview
We are seeking an experienced Restoration / Xactimate Estimator to support a growing full-service restoration company specializing in water, fire, mold, biohazard, cleaning, and reconstruction services. The company serves both residential and commercial customers.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience preparing restoration estimates in Xactimate and understand the documentation and supporting paperwork required to produce complete, accurate estimates. This individual should be comfortable reviewing project information, interpreting scopes of work, organizing supporting documentation, and collaborating with internal estimators and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Xactimate
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates using Xactimate.
- Develop estimates for water, fire, mold, and reconstruction projects.
- Review project scopes, photographs, measurements, notes, and supporting documentation.
- Accurately enter appropriate line items, quantities, labor, materials, and other project details.
- Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission.
- Assist with both residential and commercial restoration estimates.
- Revise and update estimates as project information or scope changes.
- Help manage estimating volume and reduce backlog for the existing estimating team.
Documentation & Project Support
- Ensure required paperwork and supporting documentation are organized and complete.
- Review project files to identify missing information needed to complete an estimate.
- Maintain accurate estimate files and supporting records.
- Coordinate with internal team members when clarification is required regarding scope, documentation, or project details.
- Assist with assembling documentation associated with estimates and restoration projects.
- Maintain organized electronic project files and documentation.
- Follow established company estimating procedures and documentation standards.
Communication & Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with estimators, project managers, office staff, and field personnel.
- Ask appropriate questions when project information is incomplete or unclear.
- Respond promptly to estimate revisions and internal requests.
- Manage multiple estimates and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
- Work effectively in a remote environment during US business hours.
- Maintain professional and consistent communication with the team.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant estimating experience supporting US-based companies.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Xactimate required.
- Previous experience preparing estimates for restoration, mitigation, reconstruction, or related construction projects.
- Experience with water, fire, and/or mold restoration estimating.
- Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, project documentation, photographs, measurements, and related materials.
- Strong understanding of the paperwork and documentation associated with the estimating process.
- High attention to detail and commitment to estimate accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a US-based team.
- Proven experience working US business hours in a remote environment.
Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)
- IICRC certification or related restoration industry certifications.
- Experience with both residential and commercial restoration projects.
- Reconstruction estimating experience.
- Previous experience working directly for a US restoration company.
- Familiarity with insurance restoration workflows and documentation.
- Experience communicating with field crews and project teams.
- Spanish-language proficiency, particularly for communicating with Spanish-speaking field personnel.
- Experience supporting high-volume restoration estimating operations.
