Job summary

Outstaffer.com is seeking a senior offshore legal researcher and drafter in the Philippines to work under Australian Registered Migration Agents, turning complex case files into polished first drafts.

You will prepare submissions to migration authorities, draft affidavits and statutory declarations, and support Administrative Review Tribunal matters with rigorous legal research across legislation, policy and case law.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practise in the Philippines, with 10+ years' substantive legal experience.
• Exceptional written English and outstanding drafting skills.
• Proven ability to analyse large volumes of evidence, spot inconsistencies, and build compelling legal arguments.
• Experience drafting affidavits, statutory declarations or witness statements.
• Comfort learning a new legislative framework, and the discipline to work independently while welcoming supervision and feedback.
• Experience in immigration or administrative law, litigation, judicial/administrative review, regulatory matters, or prior remote work for an Australian, UK, US, Canadian or other common-law firm is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Draft complex visa, sponsorship and nomination submissions (chronologies, statements of facts and witness statements).
• Support Administrative Review Tribunal matters, including hearing briefs and review submissions.
• Perform sophisticated legal research across legislation, policy, directions and case law.

About the role

A senior offshore legal research and drafting position within a growing migration law practice. You will work closely with and under the supervision of Australian Registered Migration Agents and legal practitioners, turning complex case files into polished, persuasive first drafts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed draft responses to the Department of Home Affairs, including natural justice correspondence, requests for information, and visa/nomination refusal submissions
• Draft complex visa, sponsorship and nomination submissions — chronologies, statements of facts, statutory declarations and witness statements
• Support Administrative Review Tribunal matters, from reviewing Departmental decisions to preparing hearing briefs and review submissions
• Conduct sophisticated legal research across legislation, policy, Ministerial Directions and case law

About you

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practise in the Philippines, with 10+ years' substantive legal experience
