Job summary

Bookkeepers Without Borders, a remote-first U.S. CPA firm, seeks an experienced tax preparer/project manager based in the Philippines or India. You will own the pre-tax preparation process, reviewing documents, organizing files, and preparing workpapers for CPA review.

You will coordinate with offshore bookkeepers, manage fixed assets, and ensure schedules are complete. Proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax and fixed assets is required, along with strong accounting fundamentals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in U.S. tax preparation (1040, 1120S, 1065, etc.)
• QuickBooks Online and Xero bookkeeping experience
• Strong accounting fundamentals, including bank reconciliation and balance sheet reviews
• Coordination with bookkeepers to clean up financials for tax prep
• Hands-on experience with CCH Axcess Tax and CCH Fixed Assets
• Experience using workflow tools (Karbon, Smartvault, Soroban, etc.)
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving
• Comfortable coordinating with offshore team members

Responsibilities

• Organize and prepare U.S. tax workpapers for individuals and entities
• Input tax documents into CCH Axcess Tax and coordinate with offshore bookkeepers
• Prepare basic tax return drafts (no signing or strategy) and tangible personal property returns
• Track and manage client fixed asset schedules using CCH Fixed Assets
• Manage tax projects using Karbon, flag missing items, and coordinate follow-ups with clients
• Communicate with the U.S. team to flag issues and questions
