Milks CPA in the Philippines seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee US client accounting remotely. The role starts part-time (20 hrs/week) and will move to full-time, with plans to establish a local Philippine office and on-site team later.

You will manage bookkeeping, month-end close, payroll, and sales tax filings, ensuring US GAAP compliance and clear variance explanations. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; Philippine CPA, US CPA, or ACCA preferred.
• 7–8+ years in accounting with leadership experience.
• Proven track record managing accounting teams.
• Hands-on with monthly closes and US payroll.
• Experience with US GAAP and US tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end close in QuickBooks Online; review work.
• Prepare financial statements under US GAAP with variance explanations.
• Manage end-to-end payroll in Gusto and QBO Payroll, incl. US certified payroll.
• Prepare and file state/local sales tax returns and track nexus.
• Set up and maintain job costing for contractor clients.
• Invoicing, AR follow-up, and automate billing/back-office processes.
• Lead cleanup and catch-up projects; communicate with clients in writing and video.
• Manage tasks/documents in Canopy and Ignition; document SOPs and train staff.
• Assist in setting up a local Philippines office and an on-site team later.
