Remote Talent, an Australian-based virtual assistant agency, is seeking a Drafting & Estimating VA to support a structural steel fabrication business in Western Australia. The role blends 2D CAD drafting and estimating with job scheduling and quote/invoice follow-ups during drafting downtime.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in steel fabrication or a related trade, with strong 2D CAD drafting and annotation skills, ideally including SketchUp.

Formación

• Hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication or architectural metalwork.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural/structural drawings.
• Proficiency in 2D CAD drafting and annotation.
• Experience with SketchUp or similar CAD/3D software.
• Experience with trade software (Factory, Simpro, ServiceM8, Bluebeam, Buildxact).
• Strong estimating skills and attention to detail.
• Good written English and client email correspondence.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare detailed 2D shop drawings and annotations for steel fabrication and installation.
• Create basic 3D models/visualizations for client approvals.
• Interpret plans and site measurements for accurate takeoffs.
• Complete material takeoffs and prepare project costings/quotes.
• Enter project details, materials, and labor estimates into job management software.
• Schedule approved jobs and follow up on quotes and unpaid invoices.
• Assist with improving costing templates and item catalogs in the system.
