Job summary

Australian Pathways OPC recruit and employ full-time staff to work remotely for our clients in Australia and New Zealand. Jakamo Remote Services (JRS) is an Australian construction, design and maintenance company established in 2008, specialising in remote mining infrastructure.

JRS are looking for an experienced CAD designer and estimator who can also provide tender support. The ideal candidate has previous experience working for an Australian client in the construction or mining industry and

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years' experience in construction estimating or related role.
Ability to read drawings and tender documents.
Proficiency in Excel for estimating spreadsheets.
Experience with AutoCAD or CAD software.
Experience obtaining, reviewing and comparing supplier quotations.
Ability to identify missing scope items and tender clarification requirements.
Experience assisting with tender submissions and pricing documentation.
Experience with CAD tools and draft preparation.

Responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Undertake quantity take-offs for multiple trades.
Prepare bills of quantities, material schedules and cost estimates.
Assist with estimating for accommodation camp construction and refurbishment.
Develop and maintain estimating spreadsheets and cost breakdowns.
Prepare material take-offs and requests for quotations from suppliers/subcontractors.
Compile and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Identify drawing discrepancies and tender clarification needs.
Assist with tender submissions and pricing documentation.
Maintain historical estimating data and project cost records.
