Job summary

PeoplePartners is seeking a Senior Finance Operations Accountant to join our Australian client on a remote basis. You will own month-end close, reconciliations, multi-entity reporting, and payroll postings, while improving processes and ensuring GST/BAS readiness.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of accounting, 3 years supporting Australian clients, strong Xero skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setup with clear communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• At least 3 recent years supporting Australian businesses or accounting clients.
• Advanced working capability in Xero.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare bank and corporate credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain AP and AR records across relevant entities.
• Prepare accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, depreciation, and loan accounting.
• Prepare payroll-related journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support variance analysis, budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Identify and implement practical finance process improvements.
