Job summary

BruntWork is seeking a QuickBooks Online Certified Bookkeeper to deliver accurate financial management for a diverse client portfolio. You will maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, and process sales from POS systems and processors, while handling payroll accounting and month-end closes.

This is a full-time remote role aligned to US Eastern Time business hours, with a standard Mon–Fri schedule. You will prepare clean financial statements and workpapers for year-end tax preparation, ensuring

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger maintenance, debits/credits, accruals, bank/credit card reconciliations, and payroll accounting.
• Solid understanding of financial statement preparation and ability to independently identify and correct accounting errors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal teams and clients efficiently.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Maintain complete accounting records in QuickBooks Online, post journal entries, and resolve duplicate or missing entries.
• Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile bank, credit card, and liability accounts and investigate stale transactions.
• Revenue & Sales Recording: Record client sales activity from POS systems, merchant processors, and reports.
• Payroll Accounting: Record third-party payroll activity and reconcile payroll clearing and liability accounts.
• Balance Sheet & Financial Review: Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet statements.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Execute close checklists and prepare year-end schedules for tax preparation.
