Job summary

Outsourced.ph invites an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our NZ client’s team on a permanent homebased arrangement. You will provide end-to-end commercial support across tendering, procurement, cost management, variations and final accounts, working with management and suppliers from a remote setup.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in quantity surveying or estimating, strong Excel and take-off skills, and the ability to manage multiple tenders and live projects with minimal

Qualifications

• A Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar relevant qualification.
• Ideally 5+ years experience in quantity surveying, estimating or commercial construction.
• Strong construction drawing and specification interpretation skills.
• Demonstrated experience completing detailed quantity take-offs.
• Experience preparing construction estimates and tenders.
• Strong procurement and supplier quotation analysis experience.
• Experience with project budgets, variations, progress claims and cost reporting.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with construction estimating/QS software.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate confidently with management, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and live projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong commercial judgement and a proactive approach to identifying problems.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and measurements.
• Prepare tender pricing and tender submissions.
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Maintain cost-to-complete forecasts and project budgets.
• Prepare project cost reports and margin forecasts.
• Identify and track variations and procurement savings.
• Assist with final accounts and commercial close-out.
• Provide management with timely information on commercial risks or potential cost overruns.
