Job summary

Nexaminds is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer & AI to design scalable backend services and drive AI capabilities in cloud apps. You will integrate LLM APIs, build distributed systems, and guide AI orchestration and data workflows.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, delivering secure, high-performance backend solutions while advancing AI-driven architectures and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of backend or software engineering experience.
• Expert-level Node.js backend development experience.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and distributed backends.
• Hands-on AI/ML integration in backend systems.
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalents).
• Familiar with Prompt Engineering and RAG architectures.
• Experience with AI orchestration, vector databases, and AI-driven APIs.
• Strong MQ experience for asynchronous architectures.
• CI/CD with GitHub, Terraform, and JFrog Artifactory.
• REST APIs, cloud-native development, and testable code.
• Excellent communication in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Build AI-powered backend solutions leveraging LLM APIs and modern AI frameworks.
• Develop and optimise AI integrations using Prompt Engineering, RAG, and vector database technologies.
• Design event-driven architectures utilizing Message Queues for scalable distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance backend services.
• Develop AI-driven APIs and backend services that integrate with modern cloud platforms.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Terraform, and JFrog Artifactory.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Ensure high standards for code quality, testing, security, and system reliability.
• Contribute to technical documentation, engineering best practices, and continuous platform improvement.
