Job summary

Himalayas is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design and deployment of autonomous agent systems. You will build robust backends, orchestrate tool-calling logic, and manage retrieval architectures to deliver production-grade AI applications within an enterprise setting.

The role requires expertise in C# and/or Python, hands-on LLM experience, and a strong focus on security, governance, and observability in cloud environments such as Azure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in backend or service-based architectures using C# and/or Python.
• At least 1 year of production experience with LLMs or agentic AI systems.
• Strong debugging across distributed APIs and asynchronous data flows.

Responsibilities

• Design and test multi-step agent workflows using recognised patterns.
• Integrate LLMs (Anthropic Claude / OpenAI) with enterprise APIs.
• Implement tool calling, orchestration pipelines, and failure resilience.
• Develop human-in-the-loop validation and escalation mechanisms.
• Build memory and retrieval architectures using vector databases and RAG.
• Manage prompt logic, semantic routing, and documentation.
• Deploy AI services in production with monitoring and observability.
• Ensure security, governance, and compliance in deployments.
• Collaborate with QA and operations to improve tests and runbooks.
