Job summary

Career Team Enterprises in the Philippines is seeking a Payroll Systems & Tax Manager to lead US multi-state payroll and tax compliance from PH. This senior, people-first role reports to the VP of Human Resources and builds a PH-based payroll team while aligning with US headquarters.

You will own ADP Workforce Now systems, drive end-to-end payroll, tax registrations, audits, and executive reporting, with night shift hours 10:00 PM–7:00 AM PHST.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of US multi-state payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a people leadership role.
• Experience building, structuring, or scaling a Philippines-based payroll team.
• Deep expertise in US multi-state tax compliance (SUTA/FUTA, FICA, W-2/W-3, state nexus).
• Advanced Excel proficiency: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros, Power Query, large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Willingness to work 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM PHST to align with US hours.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a Philippines-based payroll team to build a high‑performance function.
• End-to-End Payroll Oversight: Manage payroll lifecycle across 15+ US states and resolve complex tax issues.
• Multi-State Tax Compliance: Lead withholding, filing, and reconciliation across states, including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and nexus.
• Payroll Systems Ownership: Serve as SME for ADP Workforce Now, ensuring system integrity and optimization.
• Tax Registration & Filings: Manage registration of new state tax IDs and oversee compliance.
• Audit & Notice Management: Respond to federal/state tax notices and year-end reconciliations (W-2/W-3).
• Executive Reporting: Deliver payroll/compliance reporting to the C-suite, including 401(k) details.
• Process Improvement: Drive automation and scalable, audit-ready payroll processes.
